UGS Announces NX 4 and the Relentless Innovation Webcast and Seminar Series
Innovation has emerged as a top priority for businesses seeking top-line growth in a market driven by an insatiable customer demand for new products and aggressive global competition. How does your business keep up with technology advances and threats from local and global competition? In today's chaotic business landscape, standing still is not a viable option. UGS’ Relentless Innovation webcast on September 14th will focus on keys to greater innovation – in both products and processes.

New Functionality - the GWIM (Gimme What I Meant) key.
That’s right!!! Coming very soon, NX will be GWIM compatible. Think about it. You design a part and put a nice edge blend all the way around. Later you realize you really wanted an edge chamfer. What do you do?... Hit the GWIM key, and poof your blend is now a chamfer. Impossible?... Perhaps, but let’s say you have a realistic idea to improve the software, or you just want to get more involved in deciding which product enhancements should be implemented. Here’s some ways to get more involved.

Step by Step guide to port plotting routines in NX open
UGS has introduced new plotting system based on printing software from System Development Inc. This plotting system is used by other CAD software vendors also. This plotting system addresses a lot of enhancements compared to age old ugplot. It appears to be complicate at the first look. But it really easy to use because it supports modern dialogs to setup the printer and plotters.

Teamcenter Links Systems Engineers with the Product Lifecycle for Enterprise-Wide Requirements Engineering
On March 15, 2005, UGS released the new Teamcenter suite for systems engineers. Teamcenter now offers two key capabilities: robust requirements management and fully integrated requirements and systems engineering. This release sets the stage for the complete transition of the systems engineering capabilities formerly available in the Slate product line to Teamcenter, which will culminate with the Teamcenter 2005 release later this year.

Teamcenter 2005 Unveils New Capabilities for NPDI
Industry analyst surveys suggest that by 2010, products that represent close to 70 percent of most companies’ revenues today will be obsolete. Based on a survey of 650 companies, some 86 percent of new product ideas never make it to market, and of those that do, between 50 percent and 70 percent fail. Clearly, generating good, new ideas; defining market-savvy requirements; and establishing a product development process that brings those products to market in record time is essential to survival.
