The Simulation SIG is excited to be a part of this years Conference
to be held in Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, California, April
23-27, 2007. Knowing that users worldwide will be present at the conference,
the SIG will focus on improving the distributed product development process
through simulation. The Simulation Track theme, “The
Next Generation of Digital Simulation!” is a reference to exciting new developments
in UGS simulation tools. We are welcoming users like you to present their
experiences and show practical examples in the use of UGS simulation
products: NX Nastran, I-deas Simulation, NX Simulation, Femap
and Teamcenter for Simulation. Abstracts are now being accepted at www.plmworld.org.
This year’s theme is very appropriate and reflects the significant
added empowerment for simulation with the release of NX 5. This upcoming
release takes another major step forward and delivers unmatched performance
and functionality in Pre/Post Processing and Solver integrations for
the advanced Analyst Engineer. In addition, a Designer Simulation product
provides the Design Engineer with easy to use proof-of-concept simulation
capability that allows them to refine and improve their designs. Consequently,
more mature designs can be passed to the Analyst Engineers for final
verification (See related article in this newsletter: The Simulation
SIG NX Review and Evaluation Project). Using the already available capabilities
and the soon to be released NX 5, we truly have “The
Next Generation of Digital Simulation!”
Last year’s record attendance of more than 2,000 people indicates
the recognized value of the conference to the UGS user community. This
year we made improvements to the Simulation track sessions based on feedback
from the pervious years’ attendees and from our review meetings
conducted on the last day of the 2006 Conference. We are planning on
maintaining the 18 User Presentations with two parallel sessions and
as a direct result of attendee interactions we are planning to have the
following:
- We have set aside time at the end of Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday for Q&A with the day’s speakers, including UGS leadership.
Take this opportunity to get answers to your questions.
- We moved
the User presentations to the morning and the UGS presentations to
the afternoon. Attendees requested this and we feel that this makes
a nice transition to the Q&A sessions.
- The six training sessions
will be maintained, with two being conducted in parallel each day
just like last year.
- This year we will continue to have Simulation Keynote
Speakers and we will continue to conduct the PART and CIP sessions
on Thursday morning.
Get Approval to Attend the Conference Today! Our focus on providing
information that will promote “The Next Generation
of Digital Simulation!”is
reflected in the continued emphasis on hands-on workshops. When you are
asking for approval to attend the 2007 Conference, point out the training
benefit to your Management Team – you won’t find more economical
training anywhere and it will be provided in a simulation-immersed atmosphere.
These workshop classes have been scheduled to not conflict with other
simulation presentations, so you can attend a workshop session without
worrying about missing an important presentation.
