Simulation Track Birds-Of-a-Feather (BOF)
Sessions
This year, the Simulation SIG is introducing Birds-Of-a-Feather sessions,
to maximize the value of your time at the conference by learning from
other attendees, exchanging ideas, and networking. These BOF sessions
are opportunities for attendees with similar interests to “flock” together
informally, for open discussion on specific topics. Apart from location,
these sessions are not part of the published conference agenda and will
only be finalized at the conference and announced at the beginning of
the Simulation Track sessions each day.

Teamcenter for Reporting & Analytics
Via PLM, organizations have greatly improved their ability to capture,
manage, and translate product and process data in knowledge. However
they have not always been completely successful in using that knowledge
to gain insight into their business to create actionable knowledge.

Simulation SIG: A Brief Note for Conference
Attendees
If you read our SIG’s newsletter article last November, you know
that we were in the process of putting together a very exciting agenda
for all Simulation Track Attendees. Knowing that users worldwide will
be present at the conference, we targeted topics that focused on improving
the distributed product development process through simulation. With
some work, we have constructed just what we promised – this year’s
Conference will definitely be a great event for all Simulation Attendees.

UGS in Academia A Personal Perspective
As I write this article, I realize it is the last one I will write as
the Chair of the PLM World Academic Focus Group Chair. I am stepping
away from this role after over 15 years of leadership activities with
the UGS/SDRC academic user’s team. The support for academics,
particularly in higher education, from UGS is the top benchmark for
all CAE software vendors in the country. This support has led to a
significant shift in higher education of student designers and engineers
in the application of virtual design and analysis tools over the last
15 years.
