NX Design Special Interest Group Update
So, you’ve heard of the NX Design Special Interest Group (SIG) but you’re not sure what we do. Well, I’m here to tell you what we are doing, what we are currently working on and what you can get out of group.

Environment Variables and NX
The configuration of NX can be affected by using environment variables. While most people probably know about the ugii_env.dat (Windows) or .ugii_env (Unix) file, that  is not the only way to set environment variables. On MS Windows, there are at least 5 ways to set an ENV variable before or during an NX session:

Simulation SIG: Conference and During the Year Activities
The Simulation SIG has recently been discussing ways to improve your UGS Connection Conference experience by increasing the technical content provided in as efficient manner as possible. There will be more on this in future articles so check out future Newsletters for updates.

Knowledge Fusion Special Interest Group Update
NX has numerous tools available to the designer for creating a product model effectively. One tool that is commonly NOT leveraged by the designer is Knowledge Fusion.

Product Support: Goal Seeking in Solid Edge
If there are two things most engineers could use when designing anything for the first time, it's "hindsight" and "experience," both of which would reduce their learning curve, design errors, and costly prototypes.

Introducing the Greater Powers of Teamcenter 2007
This week marks a milestone in Siemens PLM Software history. Today, Siemens announced Teamcenter 2007, which fulfills the commitment to customers to deliver an integrated, end-to-end PLM solution. With the introduction of Teamcenter 2007, Siemens accomplishes a feat analysts recognize as a great step forward in the PLM market.

3D data at your Fingertips!
Can you reuse CAD data? Traditionally, Design Engineers would model their designs in a 3D virtual environment and were among a subset of super users with the ability to view, manipulate, annotate and reuse these 2 & 3D models. These super users would have hundreds of hours of training and thousands of hours utilizing these high-end design tools.

Teamcenter ProEngineer Integration Special Interest Group (SIG)
On September 6, 2007 Mercury Marine hosted a Teamcenter ProEngineer Integration event at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. This event was focused on understanding the road map of the Teamcenter / ProEngineer integration, sneak peek of the Integrated ProEngineer Manager (IPEM) 7.0, and identify, discuss and prioritize issues related to ProEngineer CAD data management in Teamcenter Engineering and JT Tessellation.

How to get the Most Processing Speed from your Mobile Workstation.
Most mobile workstations have a feature which extends the battery life by lowering the processor speed. This saves power when running on battery power however, performance intensive applications may suffer.

Improve your Graphics Performance by Moving to Latest NX Certified Driver
There are several reasons customers move to a new driver. Some users update just to be at the latest certified driver, others won’t update at all (why fix it if it’s not broken?). .
